10AM: THE GREAT BIG SLOW FOOD BREAKFAST
Beamish & McGlue are hosting a Big Slow Food Breakfast, from 10am-1130am, designed and executed by the Cooking Crew and Jason White from the BBC’s Great British Bakeoff. We’re celebrating local food to kick-start the festival, hosted at Beamish & McGlue on Norwood Road. This is a not-to-be-missed event and at just £8, is bound to sell out quickly. THE SLOW FOOD CLASSIC AFTERNOON TEA
Beamish & McGlue are hosting a Slow Food Afternoon Tea, Fortnum & Mason’s style, from 3pm-5pm at Beamish & McGlue on Norwood Road, for those who can’t make the breakfast and would like to sample the afternoon tea delights of the Cooking Crew and Jason White from the BBC’s Great British Bakeoff. Expect gorgeous scones, jam and clotted cream, posh sandwiches with the crusts cut off and many other delights. A celebration of local food and local food talent. If you wish to add a glass of wine to your tea, we will have some lovely whites and reds available as well. This is a not-to-be-missed event and with a price of just £8, is bound to sell out quickly. BLANCH & SHOCK RAISE YOUR FORKS POP-UP
Renowned food caterers Blanch & Shock are hosting a candlelit Pop-Up Dinner from 8pm-10pm in the beautiful interior of St. Luke’s Church in West Norwood. Four gourmet Slow Food courses will be served as guests enjoy an Italian baroque three-piece soprano orchestra, led by Ensemble Demetrio and the Maestro Maurizio Schiavo on the violin, Cecilia Bernini, mezzo-soprano, and Ugo Nastrucci on the tiorba. Lovely slow food and entertainment in an inspiring setting. There will be a pop-up cash wine bar and as seating is quite limited, we encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment. BOOK HERE.
VOLCANO COFFEE ROASTING WORKSHOP
Learn the subtle art of coffee roasting with gourmet small batch coffee roasters Volcano Coffee Works. They will cover the origins of coffee and provide a practical introduction to the art of coffee roasting. Participants will create their own roast of coffee, perfect a favourite espresso drink on espresso equipment, and have the opportunity to purchase their own created roasted coffee.
